He was predeceased by: his former wife Annelise Kryger Overton; his parents, Carroll Davis Overton M. D. and Mary Lewis Overton; and his siblings, Morris Blackwell Overton (Marianne) and Helen Overton Brittan (John).
He is survived by: his wife Janelle Bouis Overton; his children, Miriam C. Overton (Steve Overton), Chloe Overton Butler (Mark), John J. Overton (Wendy) of Henry, D. L and Benjamin J. Blackwell; his grandchildren, Isaac DeVlugt (Selina), Rachel Maebe (Lennart), Hannah Riddle, Grant Riddle (Mya), Elise Overton, Jake Overton, Elliana Overton, Lana Grace Overton, Annabeth Overton, Amelia Overton, Holton Hancock and Haigan Hancock; and his great grandchildren, Jules, James, Wesley, Leo, Delton and Layla.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 29th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home and Crematory-Hammond (2000 N Morrison Blvd, Hammond, LA 70401). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 29th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
Donations may be made in Dr. Overton's memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Alzheimer's Association.
