With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Watkins of Hammond, Louisiana, born in Amite, Louisiana, who passed away on August 9, 2021 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude V. Johnston of Birmingham, AL and Mary Porter Johnston of McComb, MS; her brother Claude Johnston of Amite, LA; and her husband Robert Perrin Watkins of Collins, MS.. She is survived by: her sons, Perrin J. Watkins (Ann), Robert D. Watkins (Kathleen), William C. Watkins (Patricia) and John D. Watkins; her grandchildren, Christopher J. Watkins Sr., Ashley Watkins Estopinal (Lenny), Jamie Watkins Bateman (Stephen), Alyce Watkins Lis (Daniel), Desiree Watkins Ryland (Hunter) and Wallis Watkins Woodward (Cameron); her great grandchildren, Christopher, Jr., Caitlin, Cameron, Cyreena Watkins, Layla, Sophie, Grayson Estopinal, Charlie (Gabby), Stephen Bateman (Bubby), Mallory, Emma, Nathan Lis, Pearl and Ruby Ryland; her cousin Lucius Scott; and her friends, John and Deanna Savage. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
