James Floyd Depriest Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Floyd Depriest of Hammond, Louisiana, born in Natalbany, Louisiana, who passed away on May 4, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia Albin DePriest and Dewey DePriest; and his siblings, Phillip DePriest, Carolyn Kinchen, Allie "Al" DePriest and Wallace DePriest.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Bankston DePriest; his children, Lee Ann DePriest (Peter), Anita DePriest Garon (David), Scot DePriest and Beth DePriest Mund (Andrew); his grandchildren, Cliff Yee, Kyle Yee, Lindsay Garon Gilbert, Joseph Garon, Ginger DePriest, Libby DePriest and Aubrey Mund; his great grandchildren, Conner Yee and Ryan Brandenburg; and his sisters, Sarah Elizabeth Wilder and Vera DePriest.

Interment will follow in New Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in honor of Floyd's wife, Barbara, to the Alzheimer's Association, either over the phone or online at http://www.alz.org.face masks are now mandatory to attend any visitation or service at the funeral home.
