He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Lynn Nettles Dawson; his son Brad Dawson; his parents, Jack Dawson and Beatrice Dawson; and his brother Neil Dawson.
He is survived by: his children, Jill Barry (Mike), Rodney Dawson (Janet) and Lieutenant Colonel Keith Dawson (Tammy); his grandchildren, Kelee Cruz (Patrick), Daniel, Megan, Landry, Anabelle, Specialist Andrew Dawson, Alan and Matthew Barry; his great grandchild Emerson Lee Cruz; his siblings, Carol Martone (Frank) and Curtis Dawson (Carol); and his friend Anne Wilborne. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
