It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elaine G. Smith of Hammond, Louisiana, who passed away on January 10, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Elaine G. Smith to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Irma Griggs and Matthew Griggs; and her siblings, Matthew Griggs, Lillie Mae Griggs, Shirley Williams and Emma Griggs.
She is survived by: her husband Richard Smith; her children, Chevelle Williams (David), Beverly Smith, Diane Smith, Carlos Wells (Michelle), Anthony Smith (Bonnie) and Richard Smith; her sister Essie Lee Griggs; and her godchildren, Monshita Givens and Wanda Jones-Coston. She is also survived by 12 Grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the N. A. James Funeral Home (1601 W Thomas St, Hammond, LA 70401). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Greater True Love World Outreach Ministries (41239 S Range Rd, Ponchatoula, LA 70454).
