He was predeceased by: his wives, Berna L. Schambach and Beatrice Fontana Schambach; his sons, Steven W. Schambach and Bill M. Bond; and his brothers, Edgar L. Schambach, Sr. and Leonard H. Schambach.

He is survived by: his children, David E. Schambach (Stacy) of Covington, LA, Brenda S. Jones (Rhea) of Hammond, LA. and Becky B. Young of Baton Rouge, LA; his grandchildren, Andrew M. Jones, Jennifer R. Jones, Kyle D. Schambach (Megan), Grayson S. Young (Connor) and Katherine Y. Wetekamm (Kale); and his sister Lynn Delaney (Ed). He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
