It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clarence A. Gilyard Sr. (Hammond, Louisiana), leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Gilyard, Sr. and Ella Green Gilyard; his siblings, Victoria Young, Elaine Bowers, Philip Gilyard, Jr. and Wilmer Gilyard; and his brothers-in-law, Rev. Louis Bailey and Robert Young.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Gilyard (Robert) of Los Angeles, CA, Barbara Jean Alexandera of Los Angeles, CA, Clarence Gilyard, Jr. (Alaina), Reginald Gilyard (Suji), Gerald Gilyard (Richelle) and Milton Gilyard; his siblings, Roy Gilyard (Carol), Eula Lewis, Thelma McCrainey (Manuel) and Ola Bailey; and his siblings-in-law, Michael Bowers, Ada Gilyard of Westwego, LA, Ireatha Gilyard and Maxine Gilyard. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Due to Covid 19, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
