He was predeceased by: his wife Helga Elizabeth Pope; his parents, Julia Margaret Parker Pope and Robert James Pope; and his siblings, Gene Pope and Marla Powell.
He is survived by: his children, Helga Barnes Pope and Christopher Nathan Pope; his siblings, Robert Pope (Carol), Kelly Pope, Patsy Ballard, Barbara Sumrall (Andy) and Cherry Jeter; his sister-in-law Nancy Pope; and his nieces and nephews, Teresa, Steve, Trey, Angie, Greg, Penny, Mark, Juliana, Paul, Jennifer and Justin. He is also survived by 24 great nieces and nephews.
