He was predeceased by: his wife Genevieve'Sally'Strate; his parents, James Strate and Emily Strate; his children, Emelia'Milly'Lacey and Rodney Strate Sr. (Janet); his grandson James Strate; his siblings, Janet Strate Bertone, Brenda Strate, James Strate, Charles Strate and Harold Strate; and his son-in-law Latimer "Bubba" Brock Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Cecelia Strate Brock, Carl Strate (Pam), Tommy Strate (Lisa), Calvin'Joey'Strate, Jr. (Marialice), David Strate (Theresa) and Leo Strate (Cherie); and his siblings, Imelda Spurgeon, Annie Hughes and Donald Strate Sr.. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 15 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home - Ponchatoula (1190 US-51, Ponchatoula, LA 70454). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
