It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bessie Bee Carpenter of Hammond, Louisiana, who passed away on December 6, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Raymond M. Carpenter; her son Milton Leroy Carpenter; her great grandchild Laelah Ann Hannon-Mayer; her parents, Leroy Shaffett and Bessie Shaffett; and her great-grandparent Avants.
She is survived by: her sons, Vernon Ray Carpenter (Johonna) and Steve Elliott Carpenter; her siblings, Melba Coor, Jessie Shaffett (May) and Alvin Shaffett; her grandchildren, Matthew Carpenter, Marc CFarpenter (Paige), Tiffany Carpenter and Hanna Carpenter (Tim); and her great grandchildren, McKenzie Carpenter, Henry Carpenter, Harper Carpenter, Logan Carpenter, Lexi Carpenter, Sheva Price, Leon Price, Kayden Sharp and Leah Sharp. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great- nieces and nephews.
