He was predeceased by: his son Timothy Luke Mayeux; his wife Bernadine Dupont Mayeux; his parents, John Ellis Mayeux, Sr. and Lula Ortego Mayeux; and his brother Donald Mayeux.
He is survived by: his sons, Dr. Gary Mayeux (Allyson Bahlinger Mayeux) of Marshfield and Raphael Scott Mayeux (Jackie) of Prairieville; his siblings, Jeanette Moreau of Mansura and John Ellis Mayeux, Jr. (Helen) of Bordelonville; and his grandchildren, Dr. Gary Mayeux, Jr., Michael Joseph Mayeux, Natalie Ann Brimer, Charles A. Mayeux, Dean Landry Mayeux and Sara Grace Mayeux. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
