It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Verdie Gaspard Istre (Gueydan, Louisiana), who passed away on December 30, 2018, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Frank; her parents, Ophy Gaspard and Ella Gaspard; and her siblings, Velta DesoMeaux, Annie Regan and Felton Gaspard.
She is survived by: her children, Geraldine Stutes, Barbara Perron, Bertha Perron, RayElla Mott, Frankie Lane Fruge, Bella Louise Myers, Richard W. Istre, Jr. and Vincent Istre; and her brother Orlie Gaspard. She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
