He was predeceased by: his daughter Tiffanie Smith; his parents, John Smith and Clouya Smith; his brothers, Melvyn Smith and Ravis Smith; and his granddaughter KaRein Benoit.
He is survived by: his wife Diana Gale Smith of Gueydan; his children, Randy Smith (Liz) of Vidor, TX, Michelle Ardoin (Ron) of Winnfield and Kimberly Helmick (Robert) of Lafayette; his stepchildren, Chad Guidry (Carolyn) of Rayne, Chrystal Cormier (Buddy) of Gueydan and Neil Guidry of Kaplan; and his siblings, Roxanne Murry (Donald) of Iowa, Elaine Stackhouse (James) of Jennings and LeeRoy Smith of Mermentau Cove. He is also survived by his 20 grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
