He was predeceased by: his wife Katherine "Katie" Benoit; his parents, Joseph "Ayo" Benoit, Sr. and Velgin Cormier; and his sisters, Rose Leleaux and Delores Trisler.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph "Chuckie" Benoit III of Gueydan and Amy M. Benoit of Meaux; and his siblings, Mary Hargrave, Barbara Clark, Lena Trahan, Peola LeBlanc, Missy Benoit, Jenny LaPorte, Theresa Smith, Jeffery Benoit and Mitchel Benoit. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to assist with the funeral arrangements.
