He was predeceased by: his wife Everna McGee Cormier; and his parents, Alexson Cormier and Electa Guidry. He is survived by: his children, Donald Cormier (Jessica) of Gueydan, Wade Cormier (Linda) of Gueydan and Elwanda (Rayland Melancon) of Gueydan; and his grandchildren, Kevin Cormier, Quinton Abshire, Daina Daigle, Danielle Cormier, Maegan Tran, Blaine Beard, Kaleb Beard and Derrick Cormier. He is also survived by four brothers; and two sisters.
