He was predeceased by: his parents, James Arbuthnot, Sr. and Tena Lee Arbuthnot; his brothers, Anthony Arbuthnot and Henry Lee; his aunt Louise Dorsey; his uncle George Lee; and his parents-in-law, Cecil Johnson, Sr. and Dorothy O'Neil Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl M. Johnson Arbuthnot; his son Melvin Arbuthnot, Jr. (Bridget C.); his siblings, Joyce Smith (Chris), Debra Taylor (Albert), Suzette Moody (Darren), James Arbuthnot, Jr. (Leona), Michael Arbuthnot (Elaine), Donald Arbuthnot (Faye), Carl Arbuthnot (Josie), Reginald Arbuthnot and Kevin Arbuthnot (Deborah); and his siblings-in-law, Demetrise Posey, Katherine Williams, Donice Wharton, Elise Nero (James), Jessica Lucky (Paul), Fredericka Bridges (Alfred) and Joanette Williams. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26th 2024 at 8:30 AM at the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church (1126 N Robertson St, New Orleans, LA 70116). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 26th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. FACE MASKS ARE RECOMMENDED.
