We bid farewell to Jo Ann Martinez Banks of Gretna, Louisiana, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 11, 2025 at the age of 87. Jo Ann Martinez touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her husband David Elliott Banks; her sibling Murphy Martinez Jr.; and her parents, Murphy J. Martinez Sr. and Johannah Nunez Martinez. She is survived by: her children, David Banks II (Sandra), Murphy Banks (Penny) and Don Banks (Lori); her grandchildren, Hanna Wagner (Brenden), Erica Pollard (Jeffrey), Kasie Banks, Korey Hight (Austin) and Kalee Jo Banks; her great grandchildren, Paul, Hank, Wesley Wagner, Ansley, Davis Pollard, Murphy and Hayes Hight; her sibling Sherrilyn Martinez Williams (Paul); her niece Tara Rodrigue (Emmett); and her nephew Troy Williams (Mireille). She is also survived by other loving relatives and close friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St Cletus Catholic Church (3600 Claire Ave, Gretna, LA 70053). A Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at the Hook and Ladder Cemetery (1000 Lafayette St, Gretna, LA 70053).
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the St. Joseph Altar Society of St. Cletus Catholic Church.
