He was predeceased by : his father Alfred Johnson, Sr.. He is survived by : his wife Elaine Johnson; his children, Shaun Ferguson (Brandy), Anna Hart, Monica F. Horne (Jason), Alfred Johnson, III (Britney) and Roger Johnson (Debbie); his mother Mildred Johnson; his siblings, Russell Johnson, Pamela Johnson, Thelma Hunter, Chevelle and Darlene Williams; his niece Deirdre J. Burel (Dwight); and his uncle Daniel Toomer (Jewel). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, June 24th 2024 at 8:00 AM at the New Hope Baptist Church (1807 Reverend John Raphael Jr Way, New Orleans, LA 70113). A celebration of life was held on Monday, June 24th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the same location.
