He is survived by: his children, Michael Brendan Cupit and Lilly Marie Cupit; and his brothers, John Ellis Cupit (Genia) and Jerry Lynn Cupit (Peggy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“To the family of Mike: Please accept our heartfelt condolences. My son, James, was Mike's friend and walked along side Mike when he really needed a friend. My son highly esteemed and respected Mike. I did not know Mike as well as my son did, but I do know that he believed in God and trusted God to forgive him for his sins and to take him to heaven when he died. I trust that God's angels carried Mike to heaven and now Mike has fully experienced Gods love, peace, and mercy. I especially pray that God will comfort Mike's children during this time of grief.
