He was predeceased by: his parents, Kermit Johns and Mattie Johns; his great grandchild Colton Vernor; the mother of his children Shirley Varnell Johns; his close friend Mavoline Wilson; his brother Jerry Johns; and his pets, Cricket and PeeWee.
He is survived by: his children, Darrah Johns of Jackson, Mississippi, Cynthia Johns of Alexandria and Suzan McDuff (Terssia) of Pineville; his grandchildren, Tyler (Courtney), Julian, Jeannie (Adam), Hunter and Desiray; his great grandchildren, Brenton, Justin, Bradley, AnnaClaire and Mattie; his sister Annie Bell Procell (Pon) of Winnfield; and his pet Sam.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Union Baptist Church. A funeral service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
