It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Etta Johnson (Gray, Louisiana), who passed away on January 10, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Emily Howard and Charley Barrow, Sr.; her husband Leroy Johnson; her daughter Meiko Johnson; and her siblings, Earl, Joseph, Charley Barrow, Jr., Doris Mae Farrar and Louise Barrow Duckett.
She is survived by: her siblings, Richard Barrow, Dr. Anita Barrow-Morrell and Randall Barrow; her daughters, Cheryl Johnson, Dr. Tonya Thomas (Rodney) and Deidra Johnson; and her grandchildren, Reivin, Jeren, Jemiere, Ian, Drexi, Tai and Dalain. She is also survived by her two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church (3076 W Main St, Gray, LA 70359). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
