He is survived by: his mother Theresa Rhodes; his children, David "DJ" Rhodes Jr. (Renee' Simien) and Lauren Rhodes-Charles; his wife Shannon Swain Rhodes; his parents-in-law, Barbara and Carl Swain; his siblings-in-law, Schantel Swain and Trey Phipps; his siblings, Brian Rhodes, Adrian Rhodes (Wendy Neikirk), Valencia Rhodes-Pierre, Tremaine Rhodes-Patterson (JJ Patterson) and Andrea Rhodes; his sons, Daniel Johnson and Kendel Burkes; his nieces and nephews, Lauren Rhodes-Charles, Rachelle Robertson and Crystal Robertson; his son-in-law Thomas Charles; his grandchild Shedreanna Johnson; his nephew Malcolm Bell; his godchildren, Tremaine Rhodes-Patterson, Candace Thomas, Javonne Jones, Philishia Joseph, Tatyana Robinson and Patrick Johnson Jr.; his nieces and nephews, Brittany Rhodes, Cherise Thomas, Candace Thomas, Camille Thomas, Micah Patterson, Samuel Rhodes, Khristian Perro, Elias Rhodes, Caleb Patterson and Ezrah Patterson; his great-nephew Cameren Johnson; and his friends, Jorgi, Remi and Rocky. He is also survived by several loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, fraternity brothers.
In addition to flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF).
