It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Cecile Baptiste of Gray, Louisiana, who passed away on July 6, 2021, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elvin Wesley and Winnie Kirtman Wesley; and her siblings, Elvin, Jr., Lloyd, Leonard, Sr., William Wesley, Sr. and Betty Sims.
She is survived by: her husband Donald Baptiste, Sr.; her children, Donald Baptiste, Jr. (Gloria), Darlene Sargent (Lloyd), Desiree and Terri Lynn Baptiste; and her siblings, Nolan Wesley, Sr. (Mary), Rose McGuin, Annette Howard (Samuel), Ida Frye (Carl) and Janis Wesley. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren.
A public viewing will be conducted from 9:00 a. m. until funeral time at 11:00 a. m. on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 3076 W. Main Street in Gray, LA. (All visitors are asked to adhere to the CDC/local regulations by wearing masks and practicing social distancing.).
