He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Gay and Estelle Gay; and his siblings, Sedrick Gay, Reggie Gay, Gay and Novis Bradshaw.
He is survived by: his former wife Margie Shepherd; his wife Jackie Field; his children, Stephanie Gay Hebert (Wayne) and Scott Gay (Ashley); his sister Gloria Mosley; his grandchildren, Emily, Camryn and Devery; and his sister-in-law Bobbie Malsch.
