She was predeceased by: her parents, Laura Becnel Mitchell and Rev. Septem, Sr.; her parents-in-law, Ceola Lumar and Alvin Gauthier; her siblings, Beulah Morris, Lorraine Smith, Roosevelt "Bobby", David and Joseph Mitchell; her siblings-in-law, Leonard Smith, Fedorall Lumar, Mark Gauthier and Barbara Dean Lumar; her nephew Cory Mitchell; her niece Denise Mitchell Dumas; her great-nephew Tremaine Harrison; and her great-niece Myrsadis Blackman.
She is survived by: her cousin Joseph "Boogie" Lumar; her son Dana Joseph; her daughter-in-law Yolanda Thomas Lumar of Marrero; her granddaughter Dirrelle Michelle Lumar of Laplace; her stepgrandsons, Kyron and Brandon Rogers of Marrero; her siblings, Anita Lewis, Charlene Breaux (Kevin) of St. James, Celestine Steib (Ronald) of Vacherie, Jenny Wells (Raymond), Dianne Hawkins of Harvey, Septem Mitchell, Jr. (Betty) of Donaldsonville, Ronald Mitchell (Doreen) of Edgard, James Mitchell, Sr. (Judy) of St. James and Lester Mitchell, Sr. (Terry) of Reserve; her siblings-in-law, Layn Morris of Edgard, Whitney Lumar (Madeline) of Edgard, Davis Lumar (Roma) of Edgard, James "Kippy" Lumar (Edwina) of Edgard, Allen Gauthier (Abby) of Edgard and Patricia Populis (Freddie) of Edgard; and her daughter-in-law Danielle Harvey of Destrehan. She is also survived by several godchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
