He was predeceased by: his daughter Patrice Broden; his parents, Rev. Edward Broden Sr. and Gussenia C. Broden; and his siblings, Edward "Tippy" Broden, Jr., Samuel Broden, Melvin Broden, Kevin Edwards, Lucille "Mame" Charles, Jacqueline "Toe" Broden and Willie Mae Broden.
He is survived by: his siblings, Brenda, Diane (Sterling), Darelene Broden of Saint James, LA, Carolyn Stewart of Texas and Herbert "Red" Edward of New Orleans, LA; his brother-in-law Sterling Smith; and his godsons, Wendell Broden and Herman Charles, Jr.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
