He was predeceased by: his daughter Evelina Oubre Brown; his grandson Jasen Hamilton; his parent-in-law Louis Boudoin; his brothers, John Oubre (Theresa) and Warren Oubre (Audrey); his brother-in-law Edmund Saul; and also Virginia Boudoin.
He is survived by: his wife Agnes Boudoin Oubre; his children, Evangeline Cox (Allen), Elton Jr Oubre (Patricia), Gwendolyn Oubre, Marilynn Payne (Marzette), Earl Oubre (Mary), Cynthia Grows (Michael) and Davis Oubre (Ingrid); his friends, Lawrence Alexis and Lester Chopin; his siblings, Dora Saul and Joseph Jr. Oubre (Rachel); and his father Matthew McCaughey. He is also survived by grandchildren; fifteen great grand-children; a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, family and friends.
