It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernon Joseph Poirriet (Gonzales, Louisiana), born in French Settlement, Louisiana, who passed away on January 7, 2020, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman J. "Did" Poirrier, Sr. and Verise Aydell "Mae" Poirrier; his brother Norman J.; and his brother-in-law Terry Len Duplessis. He is survived by: his children, Stacy Poirrier Anzalone (James Felder Sr.), Retired Master Sergeant and James Poirrier; his grandchildren, Malayna C. Anzalone, Marina R. Anzalone, Jewel A. Poirrier, Zachary Poirrer, Hunter Poirrier and James Felder Jr.; and his siblings, Carol Bourgeois (Lionel), Sandra Duplessis, Leon Poirrier (Rosalind), Alvin and Terry Poirrier (Donna). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
