Though Shirley Dean Martin may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Shirley Dean Martin touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her son Nicky May; and her parents, Henry Martin and Mary Martin. She is survived by: her husband Steve May, Sr.; her son Steven May, Jr. (Kay); her grandchildren, Kellie, Amanda and Nathan; and her sister Lucy Gautreaux (Jewell). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ascension Baptist Church (13432 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, LA 70737). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ascension Baptist Building Fund.
