He was predeceased by: his parents, Clint Carpenter and Lucille Carpenter; his sisters, Dottie, Helen, Ruth and Cleo; and his daughter-in-law Julie Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Alda Chastain Carpenter; his children, Millie Moore (Gerald), Keith Carpenter (Debbie), Sue Herring (Allen) and Kirby Carpenter (Dene); and his siblings, Carroll Carpenter (Noelie) and Bonnie Broussard. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
