He was predeceased by: his parents, Len, Sr. Matherne and Leona Babin Matherne; his former wife Catherine C. Matherne; his siblings, Sylvia, Myrna and Emile Matherne; and his son-in-law Alex Erdal.
He is survived by: his wife Doris D Matherne; his children, Dawn M Erdal and Lenny Matherne; his sisters, Nedra Cain and Elaine Nicole (Wayne); his grandchildren, Justin Erdal and Catherine Matherne; his stepchildren, Carol Moore (Perry), Terral Rushing (Andy), Emma LeBourgeois (Darren), Mary Grahm (Darren "Dut" Nickens), Louis F Lee, Jr. (Elizabeth) and Charles J. Lee (Deanna); and his sister-in-law Pat Matherne. He is also survived by 12 step grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other special family members.
