She was predeceased by: her husband John G. Burford, Jr.; her son Michael Derrick Burford, Sr.; and her siblings, Anise Derrick Smith and William J. Derrick, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, John G., Robert G. Burford, Sr. and Janelle Burford Richardson; and her brother Kenneth Derrick.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the International Mission Board or the Michael Derrick Burford Scholarship through Gloster Baptist Church or to the church of donor's choice.
