He was predeceased by: his parents, Odell Melder and Mary Melder; and his great-grandparents, Aubrey and Ruth Melder. He is survived by: his children, Cory Melder of Glenmora, Kayla Thomas (Cody) of Glenmora and Kelsey Rhoades (Tyler) of Glenmora; his grandchildren, Laigan Melder, Trypp Thomas, Keileigh Thomas, Tatum Thomas and Kaia Rhoades; the mother of his children Cherri Melder of DeRidder; his nephew Jesse Thompson of Boyce; his niece Kaycee Thompson of Hineston; his siblings, Aubrey "Boo" Melder of Elizabeth, Audrey Alston (Jimmy) of Glenmora, Brenda Billings (Curtis) of Glenmora and Christine Mason of Glenmora; and his pet Spanky.
