He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmy Pippens and Nelie Pippens; his brothers, Ray McMurray and Earl McMurray; his wife Doris McMurray of Virginia; his son Duck McMurray; and his grandchild Joey McMurray.
He is survived by: his sons, James McMurray (Julia), Bobby McMurray, Jr. (Pam), Danny McMurray (Lena), Gerald McMurray (Angie) and Keith McMurray. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
