It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Naomi McKay of Gibson, Louisiana, who passed away on May 12, 2021, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Monroe McKay; her parents, Townsend Poindexter and Castina Matthews Poindexter; her daughter Asilee McKay-Smith; her siblings, Albert Poindexter, Laura Royal, Annie Rollins, Willie Poindexter, Mildred Mallet, Rosetta of Maryland and Lloyd Poindexter; her grandson Steven Daigs; her great grandchild Lamar Lathon; and her son-in-law Donald Jean Livas.
She is survived by: her children, Lorraine Daigs (Northern), Charles Lee McKay, Melinda Livas and Timothy McKay; her sister Hazel Johnson; and her sister-in-law Maxine Poindexter. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be observed from 8:00 a. m. until funeral services at 10:00 a. m. on Monday, May 17, 2021 at Jones Funeral Home Chapel, 230 S. Hollywood Road, Houma, LA, 70360. (All visitors are asked to adhere to the CDC/local regulations by wearing masks and practicing social distancing.).
