It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lester Mingo of Gibson, Louisiana, born in Morgan City, Louisiana, who passed away on February 20, 2021, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Anna Mae Jones Mingo; and his father Clemons Mingo. He is survived by: his close friend Linda Hanzy of Gibson, LA; his children, Lucy Jacobs (Billy Martin) of Mansura, LA, Velma Hill of New Orleans, LA, Regina Berry McBride of Houston, TX, Vanessa A. Mingo (Anthony) of Houston, TX, Stephanie Francisco (Leonard) of Dallas, TX, Leslie Kelly of Marksville, LA, Jarenda Friels of Morgan City, LA, Clemous Mingo (Anita) of Morgan City, LA, Frank M. Jones (Tonie) of Minot, ND and Jonathan Singleton of Patterson, LA; his stepchildren, Tamara Spencer (Melvin) of Gibson, LA, Alisha Hanzy of Houston, TX, Latasha Jones of Berwick, LA, Horace Hanzy, Jr. (Kenya) of Gibson, LA and Tonie K. Friels of Morgan City, LA; his siblings, Lou Bertha Rideaux of Lake Charles, LA, Geneva Mingo of Marksville, LA and Leroy Jones (Tana Marie) of Franklin, LA; his brothers-in-law, Andrew Jones, Sr. and Morris Sr.; and his godchildren, Neasha D. Semien and Michael P. Harris. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be observed on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the Siracusaville Recreation Center - Back Part (All visitors are asked to adhere to the CDC/local regulations by wearing masks and practicing social distancing) 1110 Grace Street Morgan City, LA from 9:00 AM until funeral services at 11:00 AM.
