He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Maze, and Jane Haynes Maze, Sr.; his brothers, Willie Maze, Jr. and Leonize Maze; and also, Elnora Nash Diggs Cambor, Herbert Diggs, Sr. and Herbert Diggs, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Diane Diggs Maze; and his children, Sheldon Matthews, Eddie Matthews, III, Shonner Griffin, Zenobia Maze Ladeay, Clara Matthews George, Deaon Matthews, Kanya Maze Delco and Keaire Maze. He is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren, thirty-nine grandchildren a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
