He was predeceased by: his wife Carol Thomas Trosclair; his parents, John Trosclair, Jr. and Irma Lee Brown; his sisters, Yvonne Celestin and Sandra Trosclair; and his brothers-in-law, Lionel and Wayne Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Gerald Matthews (Sheree), Tabitha Matthews, Renee Veal and Jamica Trosclair; and his siblings, Micheal Trosclair (Gail), Susan Dawson (Fred), Lori Ann Trosclair, Chanel McKinley (Juan), Lejuana Simmons (James), Kwanza Harold (Lance) and Ashley Jenkins (Larry). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
