It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernest Cooks Jr. (Gibson, Louisiana), who passed away on November 18, 2018, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Brenda Prince Cooks; his parents, Ernest, Sr. and Myrtle Jefferson-Cooks; and his siblings, Donald Cooks and Janie Mae Cooks.

He is survived by: his children, Troynell Cooks, Patrice P. Thomas (Eric) and Marleen Cooks; and his siblings, Lloyd Cooks, Henry C. Cooks, Gail C. Kenny, Leann C. Brown, Mercedes Cooks and Gilda Cooks. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
