She was predeceased by: her husband Johnie B. Mitchell; her grandson Alexis Richardson, Jr.; her parents, Andrew, Sr. Matthews and Ella Cross Matthews; her siblings, Joseph, Ferdinand, Robert, Andrew Matthews, Jr., Velina M. Johnson and Edith M. Horry; her grandparents, George, Francis Taylor Matthews, Peyton and Nellie Cross; and her godsons, Michael James and Barry Lee Johnson.
She is survived by: her granddaughters, Lessica Simcox, Colette Hayes and Micela Richardson. She is also survived by six great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
