It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of O'Neil Vincent Himel Sr. of Garyville, Louisiana, born in Reserve, Louisiana, who passed away on November 18, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis Monica Himel; his son Randy Himel (Joycelyn); his parents, Theophile Hebert and Eugenie Hebert; his parents-in-law, Vita and Frank Monica, Sr.; and his siblings-in-law, Anthony Monica (Linda), Fano Monica (Joy) and Anna Monica.
He is survived by: his children, Robbie Luminais (Mike), O'Neil Himel, Jr. (Deborah) and Scott Himel (Christy); his grandchildren, Dr. Mike Luminais, Jr. (Jill), Ryan Luminais (Hillary), Jonathan Luminais (Jamie), Katie LeLeux (Jarod), Jessica Millet (Adam), Lacey Himel and Scott Himel, Jr. (Ashley); his sister Connie Thibodaux; and his siblings-in-law, Carl Monica, Frank Monica, Jr. (Nancy) and Maria Stein (Wayne). He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Hubert Catholic Church (176 Anthony F Monica St, Garyville, LA 70051). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. An entombment was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 12:00 PM at the St. Peter Cemetery (1550 LA-44, Reserve, LA 70084).
