He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Doris Jane Pitre; his children, Joseph Pitre Jr. (Kathy), Jesse Pitre (Gwen), Lee Pitre, Christine LeBouef (Will) and Paulette Cox (Richard); his sister Nevette Doucet; his parents, Arnold Pitre and Sidonia Pitre; his daughters, Michelle Pitre and Rochelle Pitre; his grandson Isreal LeBouef; and his siblings, Tarro Pitre, James Pitre and Hazel Hunter. He was also cherished by 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
