He is survived by: his wife Irma "Mamere" Cheramie; his children, James Cheramie, Jr. (Mary), Cheryl C. Guidry (Jackson) and Cecile B. LaFleur (Ricky); his grandchildren, Jody Johnson (Carissia Gregoire), James Cheramie III, Anita Pittenger (Chris), Heidi Cheramie, Soliska Cheramie, Elise L. Rabalais (Mitchell), Lindsey LaFleur and Alicia C. Collins (Jordan); his great grandchildren, Gavin Johnson (Aaron), Mia Johnson (Tyler), Maci Johnson, Lelia Taylor, Christopher Cheramie, Caden Hunter and Wyatt Collins; his great great grandchildren, Paxton Pellegrin, Jamerson Sigue, Benson Sigue, Olive Cheramie and Asher Pittenger; his stepgrandchildren, Jackie P. Guidry and Jamie G. Eymard; his stepgreat-grandchild Timberlyn "Worm" Meaux (Topher Pittenger); his daughter-in-law Susan G. Cheramie; and his siblings-in-law, Jeffery Cheramie (Evelyn) and Gertie Cheramie. He is also survived by his family and friends.
