She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert James and Freddie Mae James; her siblings, Jenella Harvey Burris, Charlotte James Aaron, Roosevelt James (Frances) and Ernest James (Cynthia); her brothers-in-law, Conston Burris and Walter Young; her niece India Young; and her nephews, Roosevelt James Jr., Robert James and Dantavius James.

She is survived by: her cousin Clodean Brumfield; and her sister Lenora Young of Cleveland, OH. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
