He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Tate Sr. and Waver Robinson Tate; and his brothers, Elvis Tate and Clarence Tate Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Lisa Kohla Tate; his children, James Mitchell Tate of Franklinton and Janene Tate of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.; his sisters, Evelyn Tate of Franklinton and Brenda Gatlin; his brother-in-law Jerry Gatlin of Franklinton; his sister Renet Tate; his brother-in-law Jacob Tate Sr.; his sister Rene Brumfield; his brother-in-law Otis Brumfield of Hot Spring, Arkansas; his brother John R. Tate; and his sister-in-law Gloria Tate. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews, colleagues and friends.
