In loving memory of James M. Ballard Sr. of Franklinton, Louisiana, who departed this world on March 4, 2025 at the age of 93. James leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Martha Ballard and Henry Anderson; his grandparents, William "Nat" Ballard and Martha Brice Ballard; and his sisters, Ester Lee Hollis and Zerline Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Ruby Nelle Harrison Ballard of Franklinton, LA; his children, James Ballard, Jr., Dr. Portia Ballard Espy (Mike), Kevin Ballard (Kimberly) and Deidra Ballard-Moore; his grandchildren, Kodi Ballard, Nya Moore, Ian Espy, Kevin J. Ballard (Piperjean) and Myles Moore; and his great grandchildren, Parker Dawson, Julian Dawson and Juniper Ballard. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sweet Home Church of Christ (2200 Greenlaw Ave, Franklinton, LA 70438). Viewing was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:45 PM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (1220 14th Ave, Franklinton, LA 70438). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
