It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laura Gibson of Franklin, Louisiana, who passed away on February 13, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Chester L. Gibson; her parents, Elnora P. Lightfoot and James Lightfoot, Jr.; and her brothers, John W. Flowers and Walter Lightfoot.
She is survived by: her son Elton C. Gibson of Franklin, Louisiana; her granddaughter Chelsea Gibson of Houma, Louisiana; her great grandchild Cairo Gibson of Houma, Louisiana; her aunt Vera O. Lightfoot; her sisters, Mollie L. Watson of Franklin, Delores Madison (Henry) of Franklin, Yvonne Francis (Ronald) of Franklin, Barbara Starlard (Kenneth) of Lake Charles and Carla Drexler (Harold) of Lafayette, Louisiana; and her sisters-in-law, Linda Lightfoot of Lafayette and Mary Verrett of Franklin, Louisiana..
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Triumph Baptist Church (1005 Iberia St, Franklin, LA 70538). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
