He was predeceased by: his parents, Horley A. Mello Sr. and Dolores Rita Borel Mello; his in-laws, Wilton J. Aucoin Sr. and Mary Louise Giroir Aucoin; and his stepson Keith McDurmond.
He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Aucoin Mello; his sons, Clovis Adam Mello (Rachel) and Joseph Ovey Mello (Trish); his stepdaughter Ketzie DeGorostiza (José); his grandchildren, Michael, Nathaniel, Elizabeth Mello, Daylynn, Isabella Mello, River Orona, Serenity Mello, Alan, Katelyn and Lucas DeGorostiza; his siblings, Nelvin Mello (Karen), Celestine "Teen" Neill and Nana Doré (Rusty); and his goddaughter Regina Case Benoit. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A wake was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Ibert's Mortuary - Franklin (1007 Main St, Franklin, LA 70538). Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM at the Perpetual Park Cemetery (1450 Sterling Rd, Franklin, LA 70538).
