She was predeceased by: her parents, Irvin Wilson and Virginia Wilson; her husband Lee Harold Burrell; her son James Johnson, Jr.; her siblings, Bernice Webb, Irvin Wilson, Jr. and Harvey Wilson; and her daughter-in-law Latina P. Johnson.

She is survived by: her daughters, Rose J. Francis of Austin, Cynthia Carter (Azell) of Houston and Belinda J. Roberson of Franklin, Louisiana; her sister Bulah Wilson (Lester) of Franklin, Louisiana; her uncle Melvin Fine, Sr. of Beaumont, Texas; and her grandchildren, Marcus L. Johnson of Franklin, Marlon L. Roberson, Sr. of Franklin, Azell J. Carter (Rasheda) of Houston, John C. Carter III of Houston, Shalonda J. Provost (Ronald) of Broussard, Ashley Francis of Austin, Courtney Francis of Dallas, Texas and Ebone'Carter of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren, along with relatives and friends.
