He was predeceased by: his former wife Rita Mae Borel; his parents, Ovey Mello and Henrietta Mello; his siblings, Douglas Mello, Harley Mello, Hyson Mello and Sue Mello Bourque; and his great grandchild Lawrence Haydel.
He is survived by: his children, Patrice Bodin (Thomas), Louise Mello, Frances Daigle (Ray), Robert Bienvenu (Suzette), Darrell Alexander (Melodee) and Debbie Huang (Andrew); his grandchildren, Thomas Bodin Jr. (Kristin), Becky Haydel (Torrey), Mark Wilson Jr. (Meghan), Kimberly Adams (Craig), Zachary Graczyk, Brittanie Daigle, Bryson Daigle, Haley Huang and Megan Huang; and his pet Menew. He is also survived by his 12 great grandchildren, extended family and friends.
